These Funny Instagram Notes Are Perfect For Your First Post

OK, is anyone else confused by Instagram’s newest feature? If you have no clue what I’m talking about, let me give you some clarity: On Dec. 13, Instagram rolled out the carpet on a new feature called “Notes” that allows you to set a short message for your followers (or people on your Close Friends) to read. Think of it as, like, those little statuses you used to use for your AIM account in early middle school… or am I aging myself here?

Regardless, I’m someone who is welcome to change β€” I’m a Pisces β€” and I’m pretty confident that this new feature is a good thing. I don’t know about you, but I used to thrive off of status updates in middle school. Something about posting a silly little “tacos XD so random” as my AIM status really made me feel like the fullest version of myself, and brainstorming new statuses with my brother got those creative juices flowing. Look at me now.

If you’re down to try Instagram’s Note feature, but don’t know where to start, I got you. Here are 12 funny Instagram Notes ideas to use as your first post.

“rawr XD”

For my fellow internet babies, this one is for us. It’s a classic callback to the days of deep side parts and too much eyeliner β€” the people that get it, get it. The people who don’t, have no sense of humor. I said it!

“me rn πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸšŠ”

I’ve had it today!

“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now.”

This one’s for you, Swifties.

“I wanna be a cowboy baby.”

Yes, I’m still making this Vine reference, like, daily.

“sam, the first night at bed when you left, ron made out with”

I think Instagram Notes is the perfect time to capitalize on some of the best memes on the internet. A personal favorite? The note that Snookie and JWOWW left Sam in Season 2 of Jersey Shore. Although you can’t post the whole thing, your funny followers will be able to understand in the first few words alone β€” if they know their memes, OFC.

“πŸ¦—πŸ¦ŸπŸ¦—πŸ¦ŸπŸ¦—πŸ¦Ÿ”

Throw it back, babe!

“omw to be messy on ig notes πŸ˜ŒπŸ’…”

Is it me? Am I the drama? (Spoiler alert: yes, you are. And I love it.)

“It’s giving millennial”

I’m sorry to my millennials out there, but if y’all take this as a sign to post Notes every single hour β€” or update them like you do Facebook statuses β€” I will not be having it. (I love you, Millennials)

“I lost the game.”

Now you did, too.

πŸ‘πŸ‘„πŸ‘

OK, literally me.

“You dropped this πŸ”΄ put it back on your nose 🀑πŸ₯°”

Hey, if we’re bringing back AIM energy, I’m sure we can bring back those viral mean fairy tweets from TikTok.

“Happy Crimus It’s crismun Merry crisis Merry Chrysler.”

‘Tis the season, babes!
