‘Friends’ Co-Creator Revealed Why There Will Never Be a Reunion & It’s Pretty Anticlimactic

Friends ended over 14 years ago, but you can bet that none of us are over it yet—if the continuous discourse over Rachel and Joey‘s relationship, or how Rachel and Monica could afford their apartment, are any indication.

Unfortunately, it looks like none of those pressing questions will ever be answered in a revival of the show a la Will & Grace. David Crane, the co-creator of the show, shut down the idea while speaking on an Emmy panel, according to Mashable. “Never happening. Never,” Crane said, which sounds pretty straightforward, if not a little harsh, to me.

However, his elaboration assured everyone that the reason why wasn’t anything scandalous, or even really exciting.

“We did it! It’s done. That’s why you don’t want to see more of it, because it’s all a happy ending.”

He went on to clarify that Ross and Rachel are still together (sorry, Joey fans), which TBH, I’m not too sure I believe, since they did put us through 10 seasons of back-and-forth. Chandler and Monica are also reportedly happy, Mashable says, and while I would love to check in on them again and see what they’re up to, I understand why Crane doesn’t think there’s a need for it.

Besides, it looks like 10 seasons provided us with plenty of material to obsess over.
