Before I bid you all adieu, my favorite HerCampusettes, I thought I would give you the low-down of how my marvelous month of fitness and healthy living has been!
Â
The first thing I wanted to do this month was clean up my diet. I knew what eating healthy entailed, but sometimes I found myself gravitating towards unhealthy foods anyway. My goal was to cut out refined sugars from my diet (like white breads, and desserts) and eat sensible, portions.
Â
Being the total foodie that I am, I experienced some tough spots here and there, but overall I managed to stick to my goal. Within the first week, I already felt reenergized (a valuable entity for us college girls!) and just plain good about myself. Who can ask for more?
Â
When I did eat sugar, I made it count: I indulged mindfully and made a point to savor my food. Eating clean has not only benefitted my body, but my mind as well; it has been a good exercise in sensible eating that I will continue to practice.
Â
Now that November is in full swing, it’s time to make sure I don’t succumb to the major stress of the late-semester time crunch (twenty-four hours is simply not enough for me anymore!). The major challenges that I am going to face as the semester comes to an end are finding the time to work out (I’ve made it so far without gaining a pound!) and continuing to eat healthy, despite the tantalizing aroma of hot cocoa and other seasonal goodies at every meal I go to.
Now that I’ve made it this far, I am confident that I can maintain my healthy lifestyle no matter what the world throws at me.

Â
“There are two kinds of people in the world: those who make excuses and those who get results. An excuse person will find any excuse for why a job was not done, and a results person will find any reason why it can be done. Be a creator, not a reactor.”~Alan Cohen, author
