Everything You Need to Know About Nick Viall Before ‘The Bachelor’ Premieres

If you’re familiar with previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, then you should know being the Bachelor isn’t Nick Viall’s first attempt to find love. Over the last few years, Nick has been portrayed as the bad guy and the stalker, and now he’s just known as the lovable guy who keeps returning to this franchise. Fourth time’s the charm?

Let’s dive into Nick Viall’s Bach history so you have all the information you need before his season premieres on Jan. 2.

How he became famous

Nick originally found stardom on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette back in 2014. During the drama-filled season, it came down to two guys for Andi: Josh and Nick. And of course, Andi picked famous, good-looking, former football player Josh Murray. During the live After the Final Rose special, Nick revealed to the world that he and Andi had sex in the fantasy suite.

According to Andi, that private information did not need to be revealed on live television, and she was extremely humiliated. Nick was very upset that Andi chose Josh, and he said that “making love meant the world to him.” While watching this conversation happen live, viewers either felt sympathic towards Nick or hated his guts for blindsiding Andi with this reveal. Relive the drama here.

His second shot at love

After his heartbreaking experience with Andi, Nick came back for a second shot at love on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette in 2015. Nick arrived in the middle of the season after Kaitlyn informed viewers that she knew him and had been texting him for a while. According to Kaitlyn, the two were friends before she even became the Bachelorette and knew each other from social media. Even though the other contestants saw this as very unfair once she let him join the show, Kaitlyn allowed it because she wanted to get to know him in person better and give him a chance.

After a long couple of weeks trying to win Kaitlyn’s heart, it came down to Nick and Shawn Booth in the season finale. Unfortunately, Kaitlyn didn’t choose Nick, and therefore he became a runner-up again. Kaitlyn is now happy with fiancé Shawn, and they’re living a fabulous life together.

Third time’s the charm in Paradise

He’s back! After two breakups that were showcased nationally, Nick decided to join the Bachelor in Paradise cast in hopes of finding his soulmate in Paradise. He started to fall for Amanda Stanton, a contestant from Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor, until he found out that she was actually interested in Andi Dorfman’s ex-fiancé Josh Murray. Nick tried to get to know other women and find a connection, and we thought his efforts paid off when he started dating Jen Saviano, also from Ben’s season. Even though the pair made it to the finale, it wasn’t true love, and Nick chose not to propose to Jen.

New year, new chance to find love

Bring out the wine bottles and clear your calendar because Nick is officially the new Bachelor! His journey premieres Monday, Jan. 2, and we literally can’t wait. Since this is his fourth time looking for love on national television, Nick and the rest of America are very hopeful that he will find the love of his life this season. There have already been rumors that he falls in love with two women. (Uh oh, could this be a Ben Higgins repeat? We hope not!)

Tune in starting this Monday to find out how Nick’s love story turns out.
