Emma Watson Subscribes To Female Sexuality Website

Emma Watson may have grown up playing the role of Hermione Granger, the brightest witch of her age, but in reality, there are some things she’s still learning about. In an interview with Gloria Steinem, the actress opened up about her subscription to OMGYes.com, a website dedicated to research on female sexuality.

Watson says her friend recommended the website, which claims to “lift the veil on women’s sexual pleasure.” The researchers and filmakers behind OMGYES conducted 1,000 interviews with women across the country, and then conducted another 1,000 interviews with women nationally representative of different locations, ages and cultures. The 2,000 total women who participated in the study ranged from age 18 to 95, and they shared their sexual experiences and the different techniques they found most rewarding.

The website then makes these findings available to other women and their partners who may have trouble achieving sexual pleasure but aren’t quiet sure what to do about it. If you choose to subscribe to OMGYES, you’ll have access to the 12 full-length episodes of season one, 50 short videos and 11 “touchable videos” and graphics that allow you to practice and perfect these techniques.

At $29 for a subscription, Watson admits it is expensive but encourages women to check the website out because “it’s worth it.” The topic of female sexuality is taboo in many societies around the world, and thus, there has yet to be large-scale research as thorough as OMGYES’s study. The website’s videos of women honestly explaining and demonstrating sexual techniques are not only refreshing but important. Women are too often shamed for being sexual beings, yet the oversexualzation of women in the media perpetuates myths of female sexuality and, especially in Hollywood movies, their sexual pleasure. In order to overcome the stigma and stereotypes of being sexually active, it is necessary to empower women with resources to openly seek out information and advice about exploring their sexuality.

Watson says she wishes OMGYES “had been around longer,” and we couldn’t agree more.
