Embrace Your Bod

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hi everyone. I just want to take this time to thank you all so much for following my New Balance fitness blog! I have had a great time sharing all of my best tips with you guys, & I really appreciate your comments & participation. I hope you took something away from the blog, whether it be some new ways to exercise or my advice on how to exercise on a tight schedule. Most importantly, I hope this blog gave you some sort of motivation to get out there and do something active and fun!

I write for the Her Campus TEXAS division and I recently wrote a piece on body image (link @ bottom of this post). Writing this piece made me actually sit down and truly appreciate my own body for what is and what it isn’t (and probably never will be….ehheemmm, let’s be real…bigger boobs? Nah, not in the cards for me. But I accept it AND love myself for it! For realz.). It seems we’ve all got our own insecurities to sort through every day, but body image really should not be one of them.

(And cue lyrics to Taylor Swift song “Mean”) “You, with your switching sides,
and your wildfire lies and your humiliation, you, have pointed out my flaws again, as if I don’t already see them.” Yep, I went there. Taylor, you have done it again and we can all relate (even a gorgeous & talented millionaire has self-doubts!). We all see flaws in ourselves, whether it be in our appearance or internally, it’s simply human nature. But here’s what I’ve realized,  if YOU believe that YOU are beautiful, you will begin to feel more confident and beautiful from within and physically. Confidence is key!

I am aware that this is a fitness blog, but in order to begin self-motivating yourself, you must be able to set goals and be confident enough from within to complete them! We’ve all got the potential, now we need to make it happen! Believe you can do it & you will do it.

Yes, fitness is about exercise, but it is also about eating well and overall feeling HEALTHY & HAPPY. There is no “perfect” body out there. Everyone is made differently for a reason! Embrace your own body and love your “imperfections” for what they are, because they make you, well, you.

Here’s what I’m getting at: Love yourself for you. Love your appearance because only you are lucky enough be your beautiful self & live in your beautiful skin. Use fitness as a way to stay healthy your own way & don’t be afraid to modify workouts to fit your fitness needs, that’s perfectly okay.

Be healthy & happy for you

Before I go, I’d like to give a personal shout-out to New Balance for being amazing sponsors! Great workout attire, amazing running shoes and awesome health & training tips from Holly Perkins. Thank you for being wonderful! I learned a lot & really do appreciate everything.

Thanks again to all my readers, youda youda best.

PS. I took the pictures above of my friends for my “Love Your Body” piece for HC Texas. They are all gorgeous ladies who are different shapes & sizes and I felt these pictures really caught the essence of what it means to be confident & accept your own body.
