The Cast Of ‘Elle’ Knows *All* The ‘Legally Blonde’ Jargon

Legally Blonde came out 25 years ago, and the influence the movie has had on pop culture is so legendary that people continuously quote it to this day. There’s even a brand new prequel series based on the movie, called Elle, which premiered on July 1 on Prime Video. And if that weren’t enough, almost all of the episode titles of the new series, which is produced by Hello Sunshine, are based on some of the most memorable quotes from the film. So, how well does the Elle cast actually know Legally Blonde? Pretty well, actually.

To test their knowledge, Her Campus sat down with the cast of Elle to see who knows the most iconic lines from the movie best. In a game called Going Off Script with Her Campus, the cast of Elle (Lexi Minetree as Elle, Chandler Kinney as Kimberly, Gabrielle Policano as Liz, Jacob Moskovitz as Miles, Zac Looker as Dustin, June Diane Raphael as Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as Wyatt) to see who could guess the most lines from the Legally Blonde films and their new show correctly. The game featured the cast saying “real” if they thought the line was real, and “I object” if they perceived the line to be fake.

Some of the lines featured were, “Whoever said orange is the new pink was seriously disturbed” and, “One second, I’m almost done learning about women who can’t experience intimacy,” a line from the new show that threw Policano off-guard. “Wait, that’s real?” Kinney responded, “That’s from our show!”

One line that the girls recognized was fake immediately was, “Don’t stomp your last season Dior shoes on my toes, honey.” Policano was the first to recognize it, and did a killer Greg Serano impression, helping Kinney and Minetree remember the correct designer name-checked in the original movie.

Moskovitz and Looker also got the line correct. “That feels like it should be real, but I object because it’s last season Prada shoes,” Looker said confidently. That line in particular is one of the most memorable from the movie for me.

The funniest moment of the video? When Minetree busts out her signature Jennifer Coolidge impression to do Paulette’s famous line from Legally Blonde 2: “You look like the fourth of July! Makes me want a hot dog real bad…”

The cast clearly does know their source material, and their memory of the lines is so funny to watch. It’s easy for any viewer to see they are all close not just on set, but IRL too!
