I’m Loving ‘Elite’ Season 6’s New Cast Members Already

It’s time to head back to Las Encinas — and like every season of teen drama Elite, you’re going to meet a few new faces. That’s right; Elite Season 6 introduces five new characters, the most the show has added at one time since Season 4. Cast changes are pretty normal for this show, with characters coming and going each year, but now that the show has said goodbye to pretty much all of the original cast (though, maybe not everyone is gone), it might get even harder for fans to keep up with the new additions.

Season 6 introduces Carmen Arrufat, Ander Puig, Alex Pastrana, Nadia Al Saidi, Álvaro de Juana, and Ana Bokesa. If you’re curious about who’s coming onto the scene at Las Encinas this year, I’ve got you — here’s a (spoiler-free, don’t worry!) breakdown of all the new cast members for Elite Season 6, and where you might have seen these actors before.

Carmen Arrufat as Sara

Arrufat may be the biggest-name actress on this roster (she’s the only one with her own Wikipedia page, after all!). She’s best known for her lead role in 2019 film The Innocence, but this isn’t her first role on a high school drama: She also played an antagonist in HIT, which started airing in 2020. Will Sara, her Elite character, also prove to be villainous? You’ll have to watch the season to find out. Whatever her character’s intentions might be, though, it seems like Arrufat is getting along just fine with the rest of the cast — she’s even posted cute selfies with the other cast members to her Instagram ahead of the premiere.

Ander Puig as Nico

It’s clear from the jump that Nico takes no BS. Just look at the Nico quote Puig posted to his Instagram promoting the season for proof: “I’m not gonna be your experiment, or your mentor.” Puig and Nico are Elite’s first trans actor and character, respectively. His career in acting started just last year with a role in TV series Alive and Kicking, so it looks like Elite could be his breakout role to an international audience.

Alex Pastrana as Raúl

Raúl is Sara’s boyfriend, but the two of them have a rocky road ahead with the addition of Mencía. It looks like Arrufat and Pastrana get along swimmingly in real life, however, as evidenced by the behind-the-scenes content on his Instagram account. Pastrana is one of the older cast members, born in 1992, but he’s also a newcomer to acting, with all of his roles being from this year, according to his IMDb.

Álvaro de Juana as Dídac

When we meet de Juana’s character Dídac, he works with Bilal, who was introduced last season — but it looks like changes are on the horizon for Dídac, especially as he gets wrapped up in Isadora’s story arc. De Juana has some experience working with friends: He actually acted in HIT with his Elite co-star Arrufat in 2021. Outside of acting, he has musical chops, too — he even recorded a song for Luimelia, a show he appeared in in 2020. He’s said on Instagram that he’s excited for fans of Elite to meet his character — I can’t wait, either.

Ana Bokesa as Rocío

Bokesa posted a sweet heartfelt message to the cast and crew of Elite on Instagram ahead of the Season 6 premiere: “I can only thank my companions in front of and behind the cameras,” the translation reads. And even though her character is the last new face to appear in the season, it’s more than worth the wait: Bokesa has some of the most experience among the five new cast members, and has been acting since 2015. We’ll get to see quite a bit of her and Bilal together this season, as Netflix has already dropped hints about.

And if these five aren’t enough to get you hyped, maybe the Season 7 cast announcement will. That’s right, Elite has already shown off the new additions to Season 7 before Season 6 even came out. Now that’s power. But until Season 7 is closer, I’ll just keep rooting for these five and the entire cast of the show.
