Big decision time — my phone contract is up on Christmas and I need to decide on a new phone. Lucky for me, I was given the opportunity to review the LG DoublePlay™ at this most opportune time.
This supercool smart phone has TWO touch screens which instantly became my favorite feature of the phone. You can use them independently or tandemly — and they make organizing all your apps easy! You can keep your favorites on the smaller one for convenience (for me I keep Twitter, Facebook, music and messaging here – my faves!)
The keyboard on the phone slides out which is nice — but the best part is you can Swype on it. I’m still learning to Swype but from what I hear, it makes texting much faster (plut it makes you look really hi-tech, which never happens for me). Additionally fairly hi-tech is the messaging options of the Doubleplay™ which include Cloud Text™ and Group Text™ which give you the opportunity to message with someone using a PC or create group chats which make coordinating a thousand times easier.
This is particularly great for me because I send thousands of texts each month (don’t judge – I bet you send a lot too!) and with the group chats, I can cut that down for some efficiency (I don’t need to text 10 people “meet for lunch at 12?” anymore if we’re all in one group chat). How much do you guys text each month? Maybe if you could Swype you could send even more! Even if you are cutting down on texts with the group chats.
The phone, which is available exclusively from T-Mobile, also comes with a great camera and video recorder. My old phone doesn’t come with a video camera and I am loving this feature! I can send my sister video messages from me to say hi, or give my friends who live far away a look at my life in video.
This phone is the ultimate choice for social networking and multi-tasking — between the screens and the keyboards, you’ll be able to do a ton of mobile activities at once. Since I spend almost an hour each day using my phone just for Twitter and Facebook, the ability to multitask in social networking is crucial for me!
This phone could really change my texting style (Swype!!!) as well as social networking skills since I already feel like I can do more social networking on this phone (plus it’s really fast!).
