Doja Cat Casually Released The Title Of Her Fourth Album On Twitter

Doja Cat’s been teasing her upcoming fourth album for a while, and now fans finally know the final title of the project. On May 9, Doja gave some information about the upcoming release on Twitter, including an official album title. Although she previously announced it would be called hEllMoUth, she confirmed her fourth album’s name has changed and will be called First of All.

On Twitter, Doja started by calling out a fan’s tweet about her upcoming album. The tweet read, “I just know this album is gonna flop because her fans don’t like this type of sound from her.” Doja retweeted the message with the comment, “Purging.” Soon after, Doja tweeted, “Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash-grabs and y’all fell for it. Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop.”

In her final tweet, Doja gave new information on her upcoming project. She said, “It’s not called hEllMoUth either, it’s called First of All, and yes I’m announcing the album title right now.”

The album’s release date is unknown, but according to Variety, fans should expect to hear new music from her this year.

In addition to her tweets, Doja previewed some of her new music on Instagram Live on May 9. Some of her verse included lyrics like, “I know I’ve been the root of the cause. I know I’ve had a temper before, but still, y’all don’t quit. I understand you want me to win. I understand how hard that you’ve been. I understand the cause and effect now like dog eat dog and cat eat fish.”

In April, Doja Cat confirmed her fourth album would be a complete rap album. After receiving feedback from fans, she has admitted her rap lyrics were “corny.” In a 2020 interview with XXL, Doja Cat expressed that she wanted to be taken more seriously as a rapper and even said “no more pop” in an April 2023 tweet. One thing’s for sure:  Her fans are excited to hear the new album and to see where she takes the rap genre.
