DDG Hinted At Halle Bailey’s Pregnancy Multiple Times In 2023

What’s a better way to kick off the new year than with great news? On Jan. 6, beloved singer and actress Halle Bailey announced on Instagram that she and her longtime boyfriend, rapper DDG, welcomed a little boy named Halo into the world. In Bailey’s post, the couple’s hands can be seen holding their son’s finger while he wears a bracelet with his name etched on it. I, along with the rest of the internet, was absolutely stunned and, more importantly, happy for the new parents, especially after rumors of Bailey’s pregnancy surfaced in 2023. But did DDG hint at the pregnancy before we even knew?

Rumors of Bailey’s pregnancy circulated after fans noted a change in her style, with her wearing baggier clothing when out in public. Bailey and DDG both denied reports of a pregnancy throughout the year, opting to keep it a private matter among those closest to them. But now that the baby has been welcomed into the world, eagle-eyed fans are picking up on little easter eggs that DDG placed in 2023 that hinted at the pregnancy news, and let me tell you, some of them were not so subtle.

January 2023: DDG MENTIONED THE NAME HALO.

Back in Jan. 2023, DDG sat down with YouTuber Brittany Jones on her channel to talk about relationship advice and career goals, among other things. During the conversation, Jones asked the rapper what he would name his child if he had one, to which DDGs questioned whether the answer was confidential.

He later admitted that he was considering the name Halo and joked that since he had revealed his chosen baby name, fans would try to take it. Following the news that DDG and Bailey welcomed a son and did, in fact, name him Halo, it’s exciting to learn that DDG was considering baby names nearly a year ago.

April 2023: APRIL FOOL’S ULTRASOUND POST.

How can you pull off the best April Fool’s prank? Take a page from DDG’s book by not joking at all. Yes, you read that correctly: in April 2023, DDG posted an ultrasound image to X/ Twitter with the caption, “Can’t wait to be your dad.” Many fans initially didn’t  believe the rapper was serious since he shared it on April Fool’s Day; however, now that the baby news has been announced, people can’t believe they were completely duped into not thinking the celeb couple was expecting. Talk about a total UNO reversal!

January 2024: Halo is mentioned in DDG’s “Darryl’s Freestyle.”

DDG and Bailey both confirmed the baby news on their individual social media accounts on Jan. 6, but DDG also addressed his son’s birth in a new music video. In his most recent freestyle, “Darryl’s freestyle,” (released on Jan. 6) DDG is seen carrying a baby wrapped in blankets.Halo is featured in the lyrics: “Silver spoon kid, I know Halo the one for nothing/He crying, his mama coming/she stronger than Wonder Woman.” Near the end of the video, DDG carries what is now believed to be little Halo wrapped in blankets as he cradles him.

X users wasted little to no time discovering all of the minor baby easter eggs DDG dropped in 2023 and gathered on the platform to discuss them.

All I can say is that I wish the happy couple all the best in 2024 with their newest addition!
