Cody Ko & Kelsey Kreppel Are Having A Baby & Fans Are Thrilled

Cody Ko and Kelsey Kreppel practically raised me in high school. I’ve been around for some of Ko and co.’s biggest moments. Ko’s viral “That’s Cringe” series? I’ve watched each one within the hour they were uploaded. Tiny Meat Gang’s live comedy show in Miami? I was dying of laughter in the balcony. Ko and Kreppel’s wedding? I wasn’t actually there for that one, but seeing their engagement and wedding pics made me feel like I was. Now I’m around for another major milestone: Kreppel is pregnant, and my internet parents are having a baby!

Ko and Kreppel announced via a joint Instagram post on Aug. 6 that they’re expecting a baby boy in January 2024. The carousel includes a sonogram, a picture of a chocolate cupcake with blue frosting in the center, and pictures of the pair with matching Mom and Dad glitter tattoos on their arms (they’re already the coolest parents ever). It also includes videos of how the couple announced Kreppel’s pregnancy to their parents. They told Ko’s parents while pretending to take a group selfie during their Iron Man race back in May; they told Kreppel’s family by giving them a gift bag with a pregnancy test inside. Check out their families’ sweet reactions below.

The couple’s celeb friends had the best reactions in the comment section, too. Emma Chamberlain said “I’M A BIG SISTER” and Brittany Broski wrote “OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Fans took to social media to share Broski’s 24 exclamation point-level of parasocial excitement over the pregnancy announcement.

Ko blew up on YouTube for his reaction videos’ hilariously dry commentary. Kreppel was a preschool teacher before she started dating Ko in 2017, after which she often joined him in his videos and launched her own YouTube channel with over a million subscribers. The pair are known for being super lowkey and down-to-earth, so when they got engaged in December 2021 with a cozy beach proposal, fans were over the moon. They got married on Feb. 4, 2023 in the kind of California wedding you dream about. Kreppel told the New York Times that the wedding wasn’t “for money or for videos or for likes. It was for love. And it was just for us.”

Since the couple likes to keep their intimate moments mostly offline, there’s no telling just how much screen time Baby Ko will have on their social platforms. I’ll be refreshing Ko and Kreppel’s Instagrams all January long to see him make his internet debut!
