Chrissy Teigen Invited Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez To Watch The Grammys & It’s The Friendship We’ve Been Waiting For

It looks like New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and author and model Chrissy Teigen are about to become BFF’s. In a tweet on Friday, Teigen invited Ocasio-Cortez to watch the Grammys at her house and eat pizza. And, of course, Ocasio-Cortez is in.

“Hello my hero,” Teigen tweeted at Ocasio-Cortez. “Do you wanna come over and watch the grammys with us? There will be pizza.”

Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson chimed in and offered the powerhouse congresswoman his slice of pizza if she came to the watch party. Teigen urged Ferguson to “tell [Ocasio-Cortez] that we are normal.”

A couple hours later, Ocasio-Cortez responded to Teigen’s invite and didn’t hesitate to accept.

“Yes!” she tweeted back. “We can live-tweet me burning something in the kitchen.”

It’s unclear why Teigen specifically called Ocasio-Cortez her “hero,” but the youngest elected congresswoman has become an inspiration to many. She has been praised for her version of healthcare for all and for proposing the “Green New Deal” to fight climate change. Teigen recently shared a video of Ocasio-Cortez, where she explains the campaign finance laws and how they are a threat to democracy, hours before the twitter exchange.

Even if we don’t know exactly why, people on Twitter can’t contain their excitement for this budding friendship.

John Legend please write AOC a jingle!

Honestly, same.

Sorry Grammys, the queens have called & we must leave.

We are practically begging!

We never knew this is what we needed in 2019.

If you need us, we will be crossing our fingers that this actually happens.
