Are you unhappy with the casual dating scene at your college, but not at the plentyoffish/okcupid/jdate/eharmony stage yet? eduHookups might just be for you if you’re looking for the “ease” of online dating coupled with the college hookup lifestyle.

The new college hookup site — which originated at University of Chicago — is a quasi-dating site serving Brown, Columbia College Chicago, DePaul, Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern, RISD, School of Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, Washington University in St. Louis and Yale.

The social networking website, which boasts it is “where fun comes to thrive” (a play on the UChicago insult of “where fun comes to die”) basically offers students an place to find like-minded students interested in casual sex.

It has been compared to the Casual Encounters page on Craigslist but FAQ on the site explains, “It’s not hard to conclude which community is safer and has the more reputable (not to mention the more intelligent!) members.

Because an EDU email address is required to sign up on the site, the amount of spam/fakes/etc can be kept to a minimum. Craigslist eventually requires interested parties to communicate on their own via email. eduHookups handles every step of the process, from public posting to private communication. Our private messaging system means that no user information is ever disclosed.”

College is definitely full of “no strings attached” and casual encounters — but how do you feel about a website dedicated to helping you set these up? Weigh in below!
