Hi everyone. Thanks so much for all the support from my last post, I really appreciate it! So really quick, let’s do a recap of everything I’ve talked about so far on the blog regarding steps to self-motivation.

Today was gorgeous, so I took to a local park and snapped a happy shot.
PS. My workout jacket is from New Balance & is warm, flexible & CUTE :)

Recap: Tips for self-motivating (thus far) include–creating a long-term fitness goal for yourself, using the beautiful fall weather to partake in outside activities, having a workout buddy and exercising in style (aka sexy cute workout gear, woo!).

Today: Take some time to RELAX.

Let me tell ya, I am the queen of never having any free time to  just lie down and take a nap or take a rest from life. BUT, this week my homework load took a break for just ONE day and I used that one day to its maximum capacity! No, I do not mean I used my free time to hit the gym or run, I used that time to take a loooooooooooong and much needed nap! Not only did I nap, but I also made myself dinner & watched a movie (how very fitness-esque of me, right?). Now I know what you’re thinking, this is not a way to motivate you to work out (..by telling you to eat and veg out on the sofa..not quite the uplifting “YOU CAN DO IT, JUST ONE MORE MILE!” type of motivation you were looking for..). But here’s the thing: because I took a day off to focus on myself and ease my mind from schoolwork or intense physical activity, I am well-rested and ready to conquer both school/extra-currics AND exercise today.

Already today I went to my internship, had a meeting with a professor, did some background research for a story assignment, talked to my ma on the phone (you all know that one takes some time), went to an organization meeting and am just about to go for a run as the sun is about to set. Now that is what I call getting rested and seizing the day peeeeps!

Basically, getting rest and taking some time to relax gave me a burst of energy today, which in turn made me motivated to complete all of my activities, exercise included. Today, I am one happy girl & proud of myself for being so productive! :).

How often do you give yourself time to relax? What do you do to relax and get some peace of mind? Let me know!

Work work work,
