Amid his divorce drama and joint custody battle with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has reportedly been texting ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, a source close to Jen revealed to Us Weekly.
He apparently went to great lengths in order to reach out to Aniston, as the source says he tracked down her number through a “tangled web” of contacts. Pitt wanted to wish the star a happy birthday (she turned 48 on Feb. 11), which then led to a conversation. “Brad told her he’s having a hard time with his split,” the source says. “And they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past.”
For those of you worried about Jen’s marriage to Justin Theroux, fret not. Aniston, who has been married to Theroux since 2015, just spent six nights with her hubby in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to celebrate her birthday and Valentine’s Day.
Surprisingly enough, Theroux has no problem with the exes exchanging texts. “Justin is okay with them being friends,” the source explains, adding that he knows that “Jen just wants to be nice.”
While it’s great that Justin is comfortable with one old friend confiding in another, we hope Brad stays focused on dealing with his divorce and custody issues with Angelina.
