12 Blexas Memes About Texas Flipping Blue In The 2026 Election

The blue wave has hit the United States, thanks in big part to Texas. (Or should I say Blexas?) After years of being considered a red state, Texas made waves this Election Day 2026 as Democrats scored major victories across the state, including flipping the governor’s office and a U.S. Senate seat to blue. Democrat Gina Hinojosa defeated incumbent Greg Abbott in the governor’s race, and James Talarico won the nail-biter U.S. Senate race against Republican Ken Paxton. Both victories marked major political shifts for Texas, which hasn’t elected a Democratic governor since 1990 or a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 1988. And just like that, Blexas (which, yes, means blue Texas) has been added to the internet’s vocabulary.

But the wins didn’t stop there. Democrats also made gains in other statewide and congressional races, turning what many expected to be a red sea into a historic blue wave. The Election Day 2026 results gave people across the country plenty to talk about. Whether they were refreshing the poll numbers every two seconds or just casually catching up on the results, everyone had a reaction to share.

While the election results are still sinking in, and many votes are still being counted, the internet has already done what it does best with major political moments: meme them. From shocked reactions to unhinged jokes about the state’s political shift, here are 12 Blexas memes about Texas flipping blue in the 2026 election.
