Y’all asked, and Beyoncé listened. After much speculation, the singer is immortalizing her blockbuster Renaissance Tour into a one-of-a-kind concert film experience. On Oct. 1, Variety confirmed that Bey was in talks with AMC theaters, aiming for a Dec. 1 release on the project. Bey’s AMC deal will look similar to what Taylor Swift is doing for her Eras Tour movie, debuting in theaters on Oct. 13. The Renaissance tour has broken the record for the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in history, surpassing Swift’s Eras Tour. So far, Bey’s earnings from this tour have come to a total of $461.2 million. The announcement of a concert film coincides with the tour’s closing night, which occured on Oct. 1. With stunning visuals, glamorous costumes, intricate dance choreography, and Bey’s usual powerhouse vocals, the Renaissance tour has become one for the books.
WHAT CAN FANS EXPECT OUT OF THE RENAISSANCE TOUR FILM?
The trailer captures the essence of Beyoncé’s artistry: embracing yourself wholeheartedly. “When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged. You’re unique,” she explains in the film’s trailer. “Start over, start fresh, create the new – that’s what the Renaissance is about.”
