This week Prague was Emily’s exotic locale.  Her narration clued us into the fact that if the guys made it past this week, they’d be taking Emily home to meet their families.  The structure of this week was a little different- three one-on-ones and one group date.  Naturally we could guess who would get the first one-on-one….

One-On-One Date: Arie

All plans were off!  Emily wanted to pretend that she was with her husband on vacation in Prague.  They conspicuously walked around a market area with the camera crew and pointed out various sites.  Emily acknowledged that she likes to kiss Arie (shocker) and lets him know that she likes it by kissing him a lot.  In an interesting twist though, Emily let on that she knew that Arie was hiding a big secret from her.

‘The Secret’ As Told By Host Chris Harrison: Arie previously was in a relationship with a producer of   ABC taped an awkward segment where Arie’s ex was interviewing Emily about the subject.  Can you imagine a girl interviewing you on camera while also informing you that she had dated your boyfriend before?

The date shifted from “cutesy couple” to Emily being on the offensive trying to pry the secret out of Arie. yes”>

The Aftermath, As Told By Host Chris Harrison:  All three had an off-camera conversation about the issue and Arie said that he felt his previous relationship was so brief that it didn’t need to be brought up.  Emily forgave him and they moved on from the issue.

The footage cut back to the boat and they were back to their lovey-dovey selves.  Emily told Arie that she hoped she would meet his family. yes”>  Arie told Emily that he loved her and had realized it in Croatia.  Emily was overjoyed but also scared at how much this would change the rest of the process.  Cue the romantic kiss and fireworks.

One-On-One Date: John

There were a lot of red flags as Emily talked about her upcoming date with John.  Her relationship with John hasn’t reached the same level as it has with the other guys.  She feels like he has a guard up.  She didn’t mention him as her husband like she did with Arie…

And then, they went to a gate where people left locks to represent eternal love.  Unfortunately, their lock wouldn’t close around the gate.  This reminded Emily of their relationship-yikes!
The setting of their dinner didn’t help their situation.  It was in a dungeon.  Locks and a dungeon.  How romantic.  John shared that his last girlfriend cheated on him a week after their one-year anniversary.  He said that his ex’s sister ended up breaking the news and told him that his love had moved on to “some doctor dude.”  John said that it made him take things slower.

After John opened up, their date took a turn for the better.  Emily felt that she better understood why John would be reserved and they ended the night with a kiss.

Group Date: Sean, Doug, Chris

After John returned, Sean was convinced that he’d find Emily by running through the streets of Prague shouting her name.  And it worked.  What?!   Emily was very happy to see Sean and they went on an impromptu date in the city.  It was a sweet moment.

At the start of the date, Chris was in a bad mood because he didn’t want the other guys to be there.  Doug was in an upbeat mood despite the fact that the pressure was on after the last rose ceremony.  Unfortunately this didn’t help his case because he shied away from any physical contact with Emily.  This fact wasn’t lost on her and she realized that their relationship wasn’t going anywhere.  They walked out into the rain, and Doug decided that the best way to save their relationship would be by planting one on Emily in the middle of her ‘this isn’t working for me’ speech.  It was probably one of the most uncomfortable moments so far this season.  As he drove away he realized his problem: “I think my girl radar is just broken.”  Poor guy.  The date became a two-on-one.

Both Emily and Sean were reluctant to end their alone time, especially after the time they spent together the night before.  Meanwhile, Chris was going crazy about what Emily and Sean were up to (kissing).

Chris started off their alone time by saying, “I’m a little upset with you.”  That’s always the way to romance a lady!  Chris did salvage their time together and got to a point where he seemed happy.  However, right afterwards Emily gave Sean the rose.  Chris was back his angry self.

One-On-One Date: Jef

Emily and Jef started their date by going to a puppet shop.  As they walked around looking at puppets, Emily shared that she thought Jef would make a great dad.  They each got their own puppet but then Jef ran back inside and got one for Ricki too.  Good move, Jef.  After that, Emily talked about how she could picture herself walking into his office one day and seeing pictures of their family.

Then, they came across a stage…and they were holding puppets.  Obviously a puppet show happened.  They acted out highlights of their relationship with their puppets, which was a little awkward, but they seemed to be enjoying their time together.  Jef told Emily that he loved her and it would have been a cute moment but he told her through his puppet.  What did you think of this, collegiettes?  Cute/quirky or weird/creepy?

Jef told Emily that he’d broken up with a girl after his parents didn’t like her.  This was nerve-racking to Emily because it showed her how much he valued his family’s opinion.  He assured Emily that his family would love her.  Then, they talked about when they’d want to live together and have kids.  The Cocktail Party

Emily told Chris Harrison that she had her mind made up and didn’t need to have a cocktail party this week.  John was thrilled because he thought that it meant he was safe and Chris was gone.  So what was Emily really thinking?

Sean already had a rose going into the ceremony.

Got a rose:

Jef

Arie

And, wait!  Before Emily handed out the final rose, Chris needed to talk to her.  Chris told her that he acted like a child during their date and apologized.  He said that he took the week for granted and was ready to be the man that Emily deserved.  Guess he’s not mad anymore!

The final rose went to:

Chris

John went into the rose ceremony confident and was blindsided.  In the end, he didn’t open up enough.

What did you think of all of the ‘I love yous’ thrown around this episode?  Who do you think Emily wants to say it back to?

Until next week, collegiettes!
