Ayo Edebiri To Make ‘SNL’ Hosting Debut In February & Fans Are So Proud

Stop what you’re doing, because the people’s princess and Emmy Award-winning actress, Ayo Edebiri is making her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in February. Fans are so proud of her, and I’m right there with them.

Edebiri will be hosting SNL on Feb. 3 alongside musical guest, Jennifer Lopez. This will be Edebiri’s first SNL appearance, and I bet she will have many more in the future. My favorite Irish girl has made it, and I could not be more excited to watch her host.

It’s no surprise that Edebiri is the next SNL host because she’s incredibly talented and has been having an amazing year so far. At just 28 years old, Edebiri has already won a Golden Globe, an Emmy, two Critics Choice awards, and more.. While many of her award wins came from her performance as Sydney Adamu in The Bear, Edebiri has been booked and busy. She recently starred as Josie in Bottoms, and also plays Ayesha in Abbott Elementary. Of course, her humor also shines through as Missy Foreman-Greenwald in Big Mouth. 2024 is truly her year, and I’m so here for it.

Edebiri recently made history after winning Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in The Bear as the third-ever win for a Black woman in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category. After winning the award, Edebiri gave the sweetest speech.

“This is a show about family and my real family, and my parents are here tonight,” Edebiri said in her acceptance speech. “I’m making them sit kind of far away from me because I’m a bad kid. But I love you so much. Thank you so much for loving me and letting me feel beautiful and Black and proud of all of that. I just love you so much.”

I’m not sure how Edebiri has all of this time to continually get awards, honor her homeland Ireland, and be a fashion icon, but she manages to do it well and does it in a way only Edebiri understands. I hope she’s cleared some time in her schedule to memorize her lines for her SNL debut because I am already on the edge of my seat waiting to laugh uncontrollably when she hosts.

Following the announcement from SNL that Edebiri will be hosting, fans immediately shared their reactions on social media, and they are amazing.

However, fans have mixed feelings about JLo being the musical guest.

2024 should just be renamed “The year of Ayo Edebiri” because that’s truly what it is.
