Is Austin McBroom Really Attending UCLA? He’s Apparently Working Towards A Master’s Degree

Y’all, WTF is going on with Austin McBroom? If the unhinged Snapchat stories weren’t enough, things are about to get even weirder, because it looks like McBroom is (allegedly) going back to school, and everybody is confused.

McBroom, widely recognized for his family vlogging channel, The Ace Family, has been pretty unavoidable on social media recently. The family is composed of McBroom, his wife, Catherine Paiz and their three children, Elle (6), Alaia (4), and Steel (2). Paiz and McBroom got married in 2017 but announced their divorce on Instagram on Jan. 11. Ever since then, McBroom has been extremely active on his Snapchat stories, and things are only getting weirder.

The Snapchat stories mostly consist of McBroom going house hunting, going to church, and most recently, sharing that he’s going back to school. Yup, you heard me right. On Jan. 30, McBroom shared on Snapchat that he’s now attending UCLA. Respectfully, how?

In the video, McBroom explained that he’s now attending UCLA to get his master’s and then his PhD. If you’re confused as to why he’s doing this, McBroom explained that “for those who don’t know, I already got my degree. I already went to college, got my degree, so they accepted me here at UCLA and now I’m going for my master’s.” Interesting.

McBroom attended three different universities. He spent his freshman year at Central Michigan University where he played on the basketball team, the Chippewas. After that, he transferred to Saint Louis University and played for the Billikens for two seasons according to Sportskeeda. He spent his senior year at Eastern Washington University where he was majoring in Communications according to Eastern Washington University’s Athletics website.

He further explained that he plans to study psychology while at UCLA is because “I’m working on my mind, body, and spirit, and in order for me to capture the mind, I gotta understand and learn psychology. … I’m going to school for psychology, … school for me starts today.”

People in the comments were quick to express their thoughts about this, and TBH, I’m right there with them. One user commented, “in 3 days, austin has lived 3 different lives 😭,” while another user wrote, “Ucla is so competitive. How the hell did he just decide after apps are closed and get accepted?” Hmmm. Something to think about for sure.

McBroom made sure to document his first day at UCLA, and it didn’t seem like things were going too well for him. He shared a fit check, which was clearly filmed by somebody. This is making me think this is just another joke or bit.

But this is where it got super strange. McBroom posted a video of him “crying” because he couldn’t find his class. He even propped his phone down and had some people give him advice on where to go. One user commented, “This has to be a skit, there’s no way,” and I totally agree.

You really can’t predict McBroom’s next move, and I think that’s part of the reason people are so invested in what he posts. But, truly, when would this man have time to go to school?
