Have you ever looked at your iPhone and thought, “Dang, I wish I could fold this thing in half”? No? Then at the very least, you’ve probably yearned for a flip phone at one point in your life — even if just for the nostalgic aesthetic of it all. Anyway, regardless of how you feel about a foldable phone, a new one has just entered the chat: the Apple iPhone Duo.
Announced on Sept. 9 at Apple’s annual keynote event, the iPhone Duo features a large screen — great for reading, gaming, FaceTiming, and more — that can then be folded in half so that the phone still fits into your pocket. According to Apple, the screen, when open, is 50% bigger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s display.
“iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what’s possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone,” John Ternus, Apple’s CEO, said in a press release about the new device. “With the largest display ever on an iPhone that still fits easily in your pocket, combined with the power of A20 Pro, iPhone Duo helps you stay more immersed and productive wherever you go.”
But what does everyone else think of the new Duo? According to the internet, people either love it or hate it.

For starters, there was immediate hype around the novelty of this product, with fans excited about its design, foldability, and other new features.
It will obviously require a lot of testing, but the iPhone Duo added so many amazing use cases for a foldable phone, it makes it actually makes sense instead of just “watch a video a little bigger and maybe use a 2nd app”

Did you guys notice the blur when switching between the outer display and the inner screen on the iPhone Duo?
That’s so thoughtful. So bloody thoughtful.

But some just don’t understand the purpose or design of it, with many saying they can’t see it replacing a normal iPhone.
iPhone duo might be the most useless phone ever made because why??😭

I want an iPhone duo mini that opens up to the size of a regular iPhone

iPhone duo looks like something you’re supposed to use unfolded all the time. Looks weird when it’s folded into a normal phone size. Pass tbh

Many consumers are also gagging over the phone’s price — which, by the way, starts at $1,999.

It’s called iPhone Duo because to buy it – you will have to sell both your kidney as well as liver

And of course, there are those somewhere in the middle — either cautiously optimistic or skeptical but curious.
The only test I need to see – Does the iPhone Duo fit in a women’s jean butt pocket
