Apparently a Starbucks Barista Had to Ask Oprah How to Spell Her Name Because Celebs Are ~Just Like Us~

Celebs, they’re ~just like us!~ Well, sort of. Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling sat down with E! News ahead of the release of their new movie A Wrinkle in Time, which is scheduled to hit theaters March 9. Considering all three women are mega-celebs, the conversation unsurprisingly turned to whether or not they still do “normal people things” like pumping their own gas and going on Starbucks runs.

While both Mindy and Oprah owned up to the fact that they haven’t pumped their own gas in years, Oprah *did* reveal that she yes, still blesses us all with her presence at Starbucks occasionally.

“Can you imagine writing ‘Oprah’ on a coffee cup?” Kaling asked in response. (Answer: no.) And that’s when Oprah revealed her gem of a story about the time a Starbucks barista not only asked for her name, but asked her how to spell it.

“Oh my god, I just went two days ago and the woman said, ‘Name?’ and I said, ‘Oprah,’ and she said, ‘How do you spell that?'” Oprah said, causing Reese, Mindy and basically all of us to errupt in laughter.

This story has two v important takeaways: First, who is this poor barista whose life has not been blessed with the knowledge of Oprah’s existence until she placed an order at Starbucks? Here’s hoping she has since seen the light of Oprah’s general fabulousness. Second, and most importantly, in case I possibly needed another reason to frequent Starbucks, I now have one — because you never know when you may run into Oprah ordering her latte in line ahead of you. (A girl can dream, right?)
