We collegiettes are constantly surrounded by advertisements featuring flawless models. Unfortunately, most models are stick-thin and airbrushed beyond recognition! Here are nine of our favorite supermodels who are not only drop-dead gorgeous, but who also support healthy living and promote having a positive body image!
1. Toccara Jones
Toccara appeared on the third cycle of Americaâs Next Top Model, where she won âCoverGirl of the Weekâ five times and was voted as one of the most memorable contestants by AOL Entertainment. Since then, sheâs signed with Wilhelmina Models and has made appearances in numerous magazines, including Black Hair, Braids, King, Plus Model Magazine and Ebony.
2. Fluvia Lacerda
This breathtaking Brazilian model moved to the US in 1996 and has since been featured in several high-end magazines, including the July 2012 issue of Vogue Italia and the February 2012 issue of Bust. Fluvia has been photographed all over the world, including in countries like Spain, Canada, Germany, Australia, France, England, Jamaica and Brazil.
3. Maggie Brown
This Hawaii-raised model got her big break after winning Tyra Banksâs “Thick and Sexy Top Model” search in 2006. Soon after, Maggie signed with Wilhelmina Models and has worked with big companies, including Macyâs and Mervyns.
4. Robyn Lawley
Robyn is an Australian model best known as one of the three cover models of Vogue Italiaâs June 2011 issue and for being the first plus-size model to be shot for Vogue Australia and GQ Australia. She has worked with notable photographers, including Kenneth Willardt, Lee Broomfield, Michel Haddi, Raphael Mazzucco and Steven Meisel.
5. Tess Munster
Tess Munster is a jack of all trades â model, shop owner and fashion blogger. Tess runs the blog âMy Plus Size Life,â and poses for her site wearing bathing suits, body-con dresses and other gorgeous looks.
6. Tara Lynn
Tara is best known for gracing the cover of French Elle in February 2012. Currently working for Ford Models in New York, Tara has been featured in numerous publications, including V, Glamour and Vogue Italia. In May 2011, she starred in an ad campaign for H&M.
7. Whitney Thompson
Whitney was another contestant on Americaâs Next Top Model who became the show’s first-ever plus-size winner. Her prize package from the show included a contract with CoverGirl and Elite Model Management as well as a cover and spread in Seventeen. Since ANTM, Whitney has been on the cover of numerous publications, shot a few commercials and acted as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association.
8. Anansa Sims
This gorgeous New York model is the daughter of model Beverly Johnson (the first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue) and record producer Danny Sims. Anansa has walked the Lane Bryant show in 2011, she appeared in the September 2011 issue of Glamour and she has been in national campaigns for Vassarette, Kohlâs, Kmart and Forever 21.
9. Jennie Runk
Jennie Runk is best known for appearing in H&Mâs summer 2013 beachwear campaign, which was featured on the front page of H&Mâs US website in April. Jennie has also appaeared on Good Morning America and was profiled by Cosmopolitan magazine. Jennie is continuing to become more and more popular in the industry.
