15th Annual Harris Center Public Forum Featuring Arianna Huffington, Amber Valleta & Franca Sozzani

Boston’s very own Harris Center at Massachusetts General Hospital is holding their 15th Annual Public Forum this Monday, April 2nd from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Harvard University’s Memorial Church. The Harris Center for Education and Advocacy in Eating Disorders is committed to promoting the healthy development of children, women, and anyone who might be at risk for eating disorders. Their annual forum serves to educate as well as promote discussion concerning a variety of topics related to eating disorders such as fashion, body image, and self-esteem.

This year’s Forum, titled Health is Beauty: Defining Ourselves, will feature Arianna Huffington, Amber Valletta, and Franca Sozzani. These three panelists have a great deal of experience in media, fashion, and publishing and are sure to provide valuable insight into how being healthy fits in to various high pressure and beauty-oriented industries.

Arianna Huffington is the current president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, a nationally syndicated columnist, and the author of 13 books. In May 2005, she launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that is one of the most widely read media brands on the internet, especially by collegiettes.

Amber Valleta’s experience as a fashion icon and an actress has exposed her to the importance of finding beauty in health. She has graced the covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Allure. In addition, she is one of the only models to have ever been featured on the cover of Time Magazine. Her career in film and television has been extremely successful and she is currently recognized for her ABC hit show, Revenge.

Franca Sozzani will provide a glimpse into the international publishing industry as she has been the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia since 1988 and she was appointed editor-in-chief of Condé Nast Italia in 1994.

If you are interested in attending, the Pubic Forum is free and open to the public, but you will need to register here. For more information, check out the Harris Center website. We will see you there!
