Last weekend, Taylor, Chelsea and I hit up one of our favorite 21+ events of the year: Wine Riot.
Founded by my friends Tyler and Morgan (their company Second Glass was on Inc’s 30 Under 30 list with Her Campus in 2010) here in Boston in 2008, Wine Riot has grown to a multi-day event that tours in fabulous cities all over the country.
Wine Riot emerged with the mission of reinventing wine tasting, trying to make it less stuffy, less pretentious, and a whole lot more fun. Here’s the way it works; you walk through the door, you’re given a personal wineglass, and are sent off to explore the more than 200 wines represented at the event. Like your wine fruity, bubbly, and refreshing? There are about 40 of those for your delight. Like wines that are deep, dark, and tasty that make you crave a big steak? They’ve got about 35 of those for you to try. Basically, it’s a 4 hour party where you get to taste – and learn about – a seemingly endless number of wines.Â
In addition, they’ve got fun 20 minute crash courses for you to check out that will help you learn enough lingo to impress your parents at your next family gathering.Â
I think that my favorite part of Wine Riot (in addition to the delicious wine of course) is a tie between the temporary tattoo station and the pimped out photobooth. Check out my fabulous picture from the photobooth below.Â
You can get tickets and more information here. Also make sure to keep an eye out for Wine Riot across the nation in DC, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, New York City and Los Angeles!
