Alyssa is a sophomore, originally from Milton, MA, studying History of Science with a focus on Human Evolutionary Biology. She is also pursuing a secondary in French Language and Literature and a citation in Spanish. Last summer, she was abroad in Argentina studying Spanish. In addition to her involvement with HerCampus, she is involved in CIVICS, a program where she teaches government classes to elementary school students, STRIVE, program where Harvard students mentor teens with sickle cell disease, Harvard Model Congress, and Synthesis, the undergraduate History of Science Journal. In her free time, she enjoys taking yoga classes, finding fun restaurants in Boston, and shopping for accessories.

Andrea is a Communication Studies major and minoring in Comparative Religion and Journalism at Western Michigan University- class of 2010. She loves being Bronco and bleeds brown and gold. She is a very involved on campus as the President of the Kappa Phi Club: A Christian Women’s Service Organization and a paranormal investigator for S.P.I.R.I.T.- figure that one out; Fall Welcome Ambassador, Her Campus WMU branch- Editor and Writer, and always at the University Theatre and Wesley Foundation doing numerous things. Andrea has hopes to have a career in media at a big corporation someday soon. She also has been with her boyfriend since high school, but has known him since first grade. Her personality is sarcastic with a one of kind sense of humor, redneck- geeky- hippie, and a kid at heart. Some of her interests include: Disney, books, movies, hockey, animals, writing, photography, the country, imagination, and family and friends. Andrea always has a smile on her face. :) Weird fact- you can see her on campus helping worms cross the sidewalks in the rain.

Candice Kountz was born and raised in Hamden, Connecticut, not far from archrival Yale University. A sophomore in Adams House at Harvard University, Candice is concentrating in History and Science. Candice enjoys sports, especially college basketball and major league baseball (Go Yankees!), and hopes to pursue her interests in media and business while in college.

Esther Chung is a proud Longhorn at The University of Texas at Austin. Born in Los Angeles, CA but raised in Dallas, Texas after moving there at the age of 8. She is a junior majoring in Broadcast Journalism and dreams of being a news anchor. Esther interns with KXAN, the NBC Austin affiliate and works for KVR News 9, the UT news channel. She has been singing, dancing and acting since she was young and calls that her passion. Esther loves movies, yoga, and baking but says her favorite thing in the world is her dog, Toby.

Gennifer Delman is a sophomore Journalism major at New York’s Hofstra University with a minor in Public Affairs. Raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, Gen is ecstatic to be contributing to HerCampus.com! She will be interning at Hearst Digital Media next semester, blogging about her favorite things on CosmoGirl.com as well as MisQuinceMag.com. She currently writes for HU’s paper, The Chronicle, and is the secretary of her school’s chapter of Ed2010. When she isn’t finding new bands to listen to or incorporating lyrics into everyday conversation, she’s likely working the cash register at her local Anthropologie. Gen hopes to pursue a career in fashion or entertainment journalism in the city after graduation.

Katherine Covino is a member of the Class of 2012 at the College of William and Mary. She is double majoring in accounting and history. At William and Mary, Katherine is on the executive board of her social sorority, a member of the Student Alumni Council, a player on the club lacrosse team, and a member of the Student Marketing Association. She also is the managing editor of the William and Mary Her Campus branch and writes the weekly column, “Guilty Pleasures”. Katherine loves traveling, fashion, guacamole, puppies, and bright nail polish. This summer she will be studying abroad in Prague, where she will get to experience the language, culture, and fashion of Eastern Europe.

Katie Manwaring (Elon ’12) is a Strategic Communications major with minors in Leadership and Sociology. Katie is originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania but after college hopes to live outside New York City. While not working as Director of PR for Elon’s Kernodle Center for Service Learning or tutoring local elementary students, Katie spends the majority of her time planning out the best way to accomplish her lifetime career goal, CEO of an international PR firm. Summer 2010 she hopes to intern at a PR firm in New York City and Spring 2011 she plans on studying abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. When not being completely obsessed with her future, Katie enjoys watching trashy reality TV (Real Housewives, The Hills, Keeping up with the Kardashians), eating out at least 3 nights per week, purchasing large quantities of makeup from Sephora, and staying in on Friday nights just to beat her boyfriend in a video game.

Kelsey Garvey is a junior English major at Wake Forest University. Her upbringing in Connecticut, otherwise known as country club land, inspired her to write in order to escape and locate something more. Writing has also acted as her outlet to dabble in subjects far beyond her intellectual capacity: art, culture, design, fashion, photography, and music. Other than reading Vogue and Vanity Fair cover-to-cover, Kelsey enjoys frequenting the blogosphere, speaking franglais in daily conversation, and laughing at her own pathetic jokes. Koty Neelis is a junior at Western Michigan University majoring in Telecommunications & Information Management with a minor in Psychology. A native of Jackson, Michigan Koty works as a news reporter for the Western Herald and at WIDR 89.1 as an office assistant. Koty has worked at various online magazines as a contributing writer including Chaos Magazine, Hostage NYC, The Daily Get Up, Sparkle Shelf and in summer 2009 had a short piece published on Marie Claire’s website. Koty’s favorite things include spending summers on the beaches of South Haven, visiting her parents in Houston, Texas and wasting lazy Sundays in any bookstore she can find. Koty plans on moving to New York City upon graduation for her master’s degree.

Kylie Wu is a Sophomore at the University of California Santa Barbara where she is majoring in Communications and minoring in Professional Writing. She is an active member of the Epsilon Psi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma and serves as their Event Chairman. Kylie has a deep passion for music and is currently an intern at Wednesday Records. Fashion, food, and the latest news on Pop Culture are also big interests of hers. Madelaine Boyd is a sophomore at Harvard College, where she majors in Computer Science with a citation in Mandarin Chinese. After class, besides working on websites for various student organizations, she is involved with Harvard Model Congress, giving tours of Harvard through the Crimson Key Society, working in the Econ department, and peer tutoring. She loves running, tracking the latest runway trends on Style.com, cooking, eating pretty much anything, and Pixar films. Last summer she studied abroad in Beijing, but she’s originally from Rye, New York.

Mai hails from Sugar Land, TX and is a second-year at The University of Texas at Austin dual-majoring in Advertising and Marketing. She is currently the Co-Director of University Relations for the Asian Desi Pacific Islander American Collective (APAC for short!) as well as a member of the BBA Women’s Council. Her interests vary according to her mood, but she never strays too far from food, video games, and music. She is a big lover of dogs and will go up to anyone who is walking one without fail; in contrast, she has an irrational fear of cockroaches and will flee the vicinity in the presence of one with astonishing quickness. Her current dream is to work for a creative advertising agency, travel the world, and become fluent in Thai, Korean, French, and Japanese.

Nabeela is a junior at James Madison University where she studied photography and visual communications. She is from India and has lived in two other countries including the US. Music, art and literature define her and she can be seen talking to herself frequently (it helps her think clearly). Nabeela travels a lot and has been all over Europe and South Asia. She’d like to say that her goal is to become a war/conflict photographer upon graduation. However, in all honesty, her goal is to create and raise awareness of issues going on in the world while highlighting the beauty of it.

Quinn Cohane grew up in Scarsdale, New York and is currently a freshman at Bowdoin College. She plans to major in English and minor in sociology or psychology. She writes Arts and Entertainment pieces for The Orient, Bowdoin’s student newspaper. Quinn loves to dance and is a member of two dance groups on campus. Her favorite activities include eating Bowdoin’s famously delicious food and watching too many TV shows, but she also loves to travel. Her goal is to visit all seven continents- only three left! Quinn is very excited to be joining the Her Campus team.

Victoria is originally from Bergenfield, New Jersey, and is currently attending Penn State University, Class of 2012. She is a sophomore studying Biology, with hopes of attending Dental School. She has a big passion for PSU traditions such as Homecoming and THON. She is the Historian of the Penn State Filipino Association, which is an organization that works to spread awareness of the Filipino culture around campus. She loves to be adventurous and try new things. For example, on her nineteenth birthday this past summer, she decided to go sky-diving. Music is a big part of her life; she loves to dance and is currently making an attempt at learning the guitar! She has a weak spot for dancing in public, red velvet cupcakes, buffalo wings, leggings & sunglasses, painting her nails weird colors, and any television sitcom (Weird combination, I know).
