Last weekend, I stayed in NYC after our meetings to spend the weekend visiting my best friend Jackie! Jackie went to Cornell and now lives in NYC and works at Morgan Stanley. She and I have been best friends since middle school! I met up with her Thursday after work and we went out to dinner at Iron Sushi (30th St. and 3rd Ave.) and then got drinks at Banc which is right across the street. We got this delcious mango shrimp roll at Iron Sushi that is our new favorite roll!
Friday I had the day to myself while Jackie was at work, so I went to the gym and did work on my laptop in her apartment. That night we went to her friend’s birthday dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn, then came back to the city and got drinks at Taproom 307, a really cool bar in Gramercy at 23rd St. and 3rd Ave. (actually on the same block as the dorm I lived in 3 summers ago when I interned at Seventeen!). From there we headed to Globe, a bar right across the street, where we took the below pic!
On Saturday it was gross and rainy in NYC. We went to the gym and Tasti D-Lite, where we both got half Peanut Butter cup/half Tapioca Pudding with cookie dough on top- yum! That night we went out to dinner at HARU Sushi at 18th and Park where we had a free appetizer coupon. We got calamari for an appetizer, then split an assortment of sushi rolls, then got fried banana spring rolls with chocolate dipping sauce for dessert- it was delicious! Then we went to another friend’s birthday and met up with Cara, HC’s Managing Editor, and Jeff, an HC blogger (check out his blog here). HC reunion!
On Sunday, Jackie and I went to the gym, then walked to Bloomingdale’s and got frozen yogurt at Forty Carrots. Sunday night I headed back to Boston!
