Ultimate Spring Break Eat: Aura Restaurant on Lincoln Road, Miami

Last night we had dinner at an amazing restaurant called Aura. Located at 613 Lincoln Road, it was the perfect place to stop in after a long afternoon of shopping. We sat in a really chic outdoor dining area under huge umbrellas. Our waitress was sweet and always smiling and the service was superb.

Aura is a great spot for spring breakers for several reasons, one of which is their amazing drink specials. Last night their bartenders were serving up $5 Mojitos & $5 Sangria. The Mojitos are served with a 18″ stick of real sugarcane as the stir stick! It’s super fun.

Here we are with our drinks:

Stephanie ordered a Mango Pina Colada. Throughout our meal Stephanie kept repeating that her drink was “so delicious.”

Annie ordered a Lychee Champagne Mojito (exotic, right?)

I ordered a regular Mojito (my favorite drink!)

The owner came out and said hi to us as we ate! Here we are with him after our meal:

For our appetizer we ordered a spinach & cheese dip with grilled focaccia. It was super rich and creamy (remember what I said about spring break being dangerous for your waistline?) but supremely delicious and definitely worth every calorie. My only change would have been to get rid of the cheese crust on top of the dip. It just makes it too apparent that the dish is terrible for you.

The dinner rolls came out warm and perfect. The menu had a lot of options, ranging from traditional Italian dishes to seafood to Mediterranean. We all had a really hard time deciding what to order. Eventually we settled on the following:

I ordered seared ahi tuna with jasmine rice & vegetables. The vegetables were a little bit overcooked but the rice was incredibly aromatic and the fish was fresh and well prepared.

Stephanie decided on a the “Vegetable Mediterranean,” a dish of cooked vegetables served with couscous. She loved the couscous and said that the vegetables were well seasoned.

Annie ordered sauteed shrimp with vegetables. She agreed that her veggies were a bit overdone but said that the number of shrimp they gave her was “generous.”

For dessert the three of us shared an order of tiramisu – one of my favorite treats.

Here we are after our dinner:

Overall it was a great experience. I mean come on, any place that serves both tiramisu and mango pina coladas has got my vote!
