When people imagine a trip to South Beach, they often picture girls running about topless in thongs and high heels drinking alcoholic slushies. It’s true – South Beach, and much of greater Miami, is full of these types of things.
The trip that Annie, Stephanie and I took to Miami could not have been farther from the above-mentioned fantasy. Rather than drunken escapades in the sun, we spent much of our trip shopping, tanning, reading, eating (have you seen the pictures? We went a little nuts) and working on Her Campus.
One excursion during our 11-day stay, however, was more along the lines of your stereotypical South Beach Spring Break adventure. My college roommate Katerina also happened to be in Miami while we were there and called to let me know that she and her boyfriend Zander were going to be stopping by a pool party at the Fontainebleu Hotel. She asked if we wanted to join. Knowing that the Fontainebleu hotel is one of the swankiest spots in Miami, we decided to give it a shot.
What we found was exactly what you would have expected in Miami during Spring Break. The pool party was exactly like a night club except for three main differences:
1. There was a swimming pool
2. The party was from 2pm-7pm
3. The girls were wearing sunglasses, TINY bathing suits, and HUGE heels
To say that it was an experience would be an understatement. Check out the pictures below to see what I mean.
