The Good Shoe Project is a buy-one-give-one initiative from Payless that was developed as a result of consumers’ desire to be more involved in giving shoes to children in need.  Good Shoe enables shoppers to join Payless in its massive children’s shoe-giving initiative and it is a strong complement to the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids giving program. This program is in its third year and will result in a total of $3.4 million in free shoes given to children in need at the holidays — $1.2 million in free shoes will be given away just this holiday season alone. The Good Shoe Project is now an opportunity for shoppers to get involved and will result in a minimum of 100,000 pairs distributed to children in need across Central America mid-next year.
How does it work? For every Airwalk Hope shoe purchased at Payless stores and Payless.com from Dec.15th 2010 through Feb. 14th 2011, Payless will  give a free pair of kids’ shoes to a child in need located in five countries in Central America (El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala). Distribution of the shoes will be conducted through a new alliance for Payless with humanitarian organization World Vision.
