Hey collegiettes! If you’d rather carry around your phone than your wallet, then Clinkle has the perfect app for you. The San Francisco startup is launching a payment platform in the upcoming year that allows you to go paperless and cardless by making transactions with your phone! It will be the first of its kind to let you pay friends and businesses using any bank or card at the click of a button. The founder, Lucas Duplan, came up with the idea in 2011 while he was a student at Stanford University, and has since raised $25 million in seed funding from investors in Silicon Valley.
You could be one of the first students to use this awesome app by signing up for your college’s wait list at www.clinkle.com. Universities with the highest percentage of their student body on the waitlists will be given the earliest access. Clinkle is first launching exclusively to college campuses before opening up to the general public.
If you’re tired of splitting the bill among friends the old-fashioned way and remembering IOUs, tell your school buddies to join the waitlist. Clinkle is the future of easy spending, meaning you never have to haul around a bunch of debit cards, credit cards, or crumpled bills again. We’ll clink to that!
