I pride myself on my shopping skills. Growing up my grandmother and I went to yard sales and flea markets nearly every Saturday morning. As such, I began perfecting the art of bargain hunting at a very young age.
One of my top-2 bargains of all time was a cream, vintage-inspired Alexander McQueen sundress. Originally $1,800, I found the dress on the clearance rack at Saks Off 5th at my favorite outlet mall. After haggling with the cashier (the snaps on the halter strap were loose), I was able to get an additional 10% off. This brought the total cost of the dress down to $118! I was SO pumped.
I wore the dress out on a date with my boyfriend Alex a few nights ago.
The dress it a little wrinkled in the photos (I am a college student after all. Who has time to iron?!?). Imagine what it would look like freshly pressed! (Mom- help please!)
Isn’t it an awesome dress? I love the bustier-inspired bodice, rouched sweetheart neckline, low cut back, and quilted halter strap.
RIP Alexander McQueen! You were a genius.
P.S. The looming face in the background is a painting I have on the wall of my dorm room painted by my friend Katelyn Foley. She’s a wonderful artist. Two cheers for talented friends!
