Two days after our graduation, my boyfriend Alex and I took off for Italy to celebrate being done with college! Neither of us had ever been to Italy before and we were excited about checking out the culture, the food, and of course the architecture and the art. Not to offend anyone of Italian descent out there, but we were sorely dissapointed by both the culture and the food that we experienced. We found the vast majority of those we encountered to be rude and unhelpful. The biggest shock, however, was the food – it was terrible! One of our best meals from the whole trip, ironically, was at an Irish Pub in Rome. Back home, I’m a huge fan of Italian food. I love heading into Boston’s North End (it’s packed full of Italian restaurants and bakeries) and munching on gnocchi while sipping red wine. Maybe we were unlucky enough to have just happened into terrible restaurants 90% of the time. Who knows. Regardless, we got some really fun pictures and had a wonderful time overall.
Here we are on one of the Vaporetti – a water bus – in Venice!
I took this picture in Saint Mark’s Square. I was so excited that I got the bird flying in front of the bell tower!
