My favorite low-cal ice cream

So I happen to be a big fan of portioned desserts, since I find it difficult to eat reasonable portion sizes when I have a huge tub of ice cream in the freezer.

There are tons of low-calorie, pre-portioned type desserts out there and I have tried a ton of different ones from all the different brands (Weight Watchers, Skinny Cow, etc.).

I have finally settled on two low-calorie ice cream cups that I am absolutely OBSESSED with!

The first is Edy’s slow-churned mini ice cream cups– I think these came out last summer.  They come in coffee, chocolate, vanilla bean, mint chocolate chip, and chocolate chip and have 150-170 calories each (except I think the chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip have 210, which I don’t think is worth it).  My favorite is the coffee one, but that’s because I’m a coffee ice cream person.  I like the chocolate and vanilla ones too.  It’s not a diet ice cream so it doesn’t have any sort of weird diet taste, and it really is a good size portion so you don’t want any  more after eating it.  Also because it is slow-churned the ice cream is super soft and creamy- delish!

My other, new favorite ice cream cups are the Skinny Cow ice cream cups that just came out within the past few weeks I think.  They come in chocolate fudge brownie, caramel cone, dulce de leche, cookies & cream, and strawberry cheesecake.  I’m still trying out all the flavors, so I do not yet have a favorite, but so far I like them all!  Like the Edy’s cups, they have 150-170 calories each, and are also a good size and taste delicious, not like a diet product!

I am also very excited to now have a freezer to keep ice cream in now that I’m at home (we didn’t have a freezer in our room at school), so I have been stocking up on these cups!

If you’re a fan of these kinds of desserts, definitely check these out!!

What is your favorite thing to eat for dessert when you don’t want to go overboard?  Leave a comment!!
