Last Wednesday after Windsor and Annie left Miami, my best friend Jackie met me in Miami Wednesday night so that we could take a long weekend vacation there together! Jackie and I have been best friends since middle school and have always dreamed of going on vacation together once we were old enough. Jackie went with my family to Florida senior year of high school, but then in college we never had the same spring break (she went to Cornell), so this was our first time actually taking a trip together by ourselves! We were super excited. So I spent Wednesday afternoon doing work after Windsor and Annie had left, and then Jackie flew in from NYC (she now lives there and works in finance) Wednesday night.
Our agenda consisted of spending as much time outside at the pool as possible during the day, and going out for delicious dinners and fun at night. On Thursday night, we went to dinner at Carpaccio at Bal Harbour Shops (where Windsor, Annie and I failed to eat because a shooting had just taken place…). The food was amazing. First we split an eggplant, tomato and mozzarrella salad, then a pasta dish of rigatoni with red sauce, basil, and ricotta cheese. Here I am with Jackie at dinner at Carpaccio!
After dinner we got froyo (our usual). I’m wearing a dress by French Connection that I got at the Bloomingdale’s outlet earlier this trip!
Afterwards we went to The Delano, this really swanky hotel on South Beach with a bar and couches all around the pool. Here are me and Jackie at The Delano, and a fire dancer woman who performed there!
Friday, we spent more time at the pool during the day, then went out to dinner at Sushi Samba on Lincoln Road at night. We felt very Sex-and-the-City!
Afterwards we went to The Delano again, but this time we went to a club there that had a famous DJ performing (there was a music festival going on while we were in Miami). Here we are out that night!
Then again on Saturday night we had… you guessed it… more sushi! This time we went to Sushi Siam on Lincoln Road. I’ve been getting more adventurous with sushi on this trip (I used to only eat cucumber or avocado rolls; now I still won’t eat raw fish, but I’ve been eating rolls with cooked fish in them).

We had a low-key night that night and did not go out after dinner (except to get ice cream!). Here we are on Lincoln Road on our last night.
Then on Sunday we snapped these pics out by the pool before heading to the airport for our flights that night. In this one we are wearing our Jack Wills tees and toting our HC Spring Break Survival Kits!
Then Sunday night it was back to Boston and 30-degree weather… but at least I have a tan!
