Interested in Studying Abroad? Read This!

Imagine you’re sitting in a café in Jerusalem. As you devour your falafel, you reflect upon the fascinating lecture you’ve just listened to about the Arab-Israeli conflict (from a teacher who helped facilitate the negotiations!) Or maybe you’re strolling along a glistening beach in Tel Aviv, taking a well-deserved break from your internship at Israel’s national newspaper, Haaretz (no worries, they print it in English too).  Sound far-fetched? It really isn’t, not with Masa’s help anyways. Masa is a program that grants students the opportunity to participate in semester and yearlong programs in Israel. Between study abroad programs, internships, and volunteer opportunities, there are plenty of ways for students to experience the holy land and Masa makes it all possible!

Last year, Masa gave me a grant for studying at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The application process was so easy! And once I got to Israel, Masa provided tons of opportunities to socialize with my peers, immerse myself in Israel’s rich culture and attend interesting seminars (so helpful for navigating around a foreign country!). My favorite part about Masa (besides the awesome grants they give), is the way they helped guide me through the difficulties of living in Israel, while still ensuring I had a genuine Israeli experience. And while I knew I would have fun,  I never expected my time in Israel to be such an exhilarating, impactful and life-changing experience.

Although it is only slightly larger than New Jersey, Israel continues to be one of the most fascinating, dynamic and exciting countries in the world. Whether you’re hiking through the breathtaking desert, praying at the Western Wall or partying at a Nightclub in Tel Aviv, there are a limitless amount of experiences and opportunities waiting for you in Israel and Masa can help you attain all of them!
