This morning, I did another segment for Her Campus on Fox25 News in Boston. Today I was talking about tips for spring break safety, which is super important with break right around the corner for most colleges! Windsor, Annie and I are actually going to Miami on “college spring break” too and we have a bunch of fun Her Campus stuff planned for while we’re down there (stay tuned for more on that).
But today on Fox, I gave tips for college students and their parents, including:
- Pick a hotel that is family-oriented, rather that one that will be full of college spring break-ers. Hotels full of college kids are more likely to turn a blind eye to things like who is coming in and out or if someone is too drunk. Hotels that deal with families have more safety measures in place!
- Don’t forget your common sense going-out rules like: don’t go out alone, don’t go home with someone you don’t know, and don’t leave your drink unattended.
- Everything in moderation: drinking, tanning, partying, etc. You don’t want to get so sick/sunburned/exhausted that you can’t enjoy your trip!
- Pack lightly, keep valuables locked in the hotel room safe, and make a bunch of copies of your passport if you are going out of the country!
You can watch the segment here! Do you have other spring break safety tips I forgot? Leave a comment!
