This weekend I trekked down to New Haven, CT to watch Harvard cream Yale in football. People joke that the Harvard-Yale match up, also known fondly as “the game” is the only weekend where Harvard and Yale students alike get to act like “real” college students. It’s partially true. It is the only weekend of the year that a majority of students of both schools spend their Saturday tailgating then watching football. I’ve got to say that I really enjoyed the experience. It almost makes me wish that I had gone to a big southern school where weekends like this one weren’t the exception as opposed to the rule.
I am sad to report that while at Yale I did not run into Emma Allen, our lovely Yalie writer.
I am thrilled to report however that we did indeed beat Yale. Despite their 10-0 lead during the second and third quarters, Harvard delivered 14 unanswered points in the last 10 minutes of the game! It was a phenomenal game to watch and I’ve got to say that it was really fun to rush the field of our rival school and celebrate with the team!
Go Harvard!
