Day 2 in Miami = much better!

After a horrific start to my spring break in Miami, Day 2 was significantly better (though that’s not saying much!). Even so, it was a fun day.

Becca and I slept super late again (though this time we had Daylight Savings Time to blame), then this afternoon we went to get mani/pedis. I got a color called Peach Daquiri by Essie– those of you who know me know I’m obsessed with nail polish colors! I actually record each nail polish color in a Word doc with a description of it and whether or not I liked it every time I get a mani or pedi, to avoid showing up to the nail salon and either not remembering which color I want, or seeing a name that I recognize but not remembering whether or not I liked it. This Word doc has seriously come in handy! FYI, the Peach Daquiri color is getting a “like”, unless I change my mind after looking at it on my nails throughout the week. If you ever need nail polish recommendations, let me know!

After mani/pedis, we went to dinner at this amazing sushi place that we just happened upon. It was delicious and the portions were HUGE! We literally ordered twice as much sushi as we thought we were ordering- but it was super cheap! Neither of us like raw fish sushi, so we ordered a variety of vegetable rolls… and ate them all! Here is a picture of the massive quantity of sushi that was brought to our table- which we then proceeded to finish!

After dinner we attempted to walk to this frozen yogurt place here that I have been to before and is similar to Pinkberry, Berryline, etc.- but when we got there we discovered it had gone out of business! Very upsetting. We then walked home because it was nice out and still light out, I did some HC work, and then we watched the first three episodes of Sex and the City on DVD! I got the full SATC DVD set with all series for Hanukkah this year, and we have been saving it to watch over spring break. Now that we started, I have a feeling we’ll be watching a lot! Last year over spring break (also in Miami) we watched the entire first season of Gossip Girl on DVD.

This week is a fabulous break from Harvard life- as you can imagine, these are not the sorts of activities that fill up our days at school. It’s so refreshing to just relax and do fun, less serious things for once.

Now I’m going to go to sleep, and hoping to spend some time at the pool tomorrow and also go running! Hope everyone else is having a fabulous spring break!!
