With a D and an E and an L-T-A and a G-A-M-M-A, that’s Delta Gamma, uh huh that’s what I am-a, oh yeah!
This is just one of the lines from the zillions of songs I’ve been singing all this week for my sorority, Delta Gamma, since it’s sorority Recruitment right now at Harvard!
Greek life at Harvard is a little different than at other schools- we only have 3 sororities, and we don’t have sorority houses, because we all live in dorms- so it’s more like a social extracurricular organization! I’m in DG and Windsor is in Theta!
We have Recruitment (our term for Rush) almost every night this week until Bid Day on Saturday! It’s a lot of fun to meet all the PNMs (Potential New Members), but it’s also exhausting! We do lots of meet-and-greet activities throughout the week so that we can determine which girls are a good fit for our sororities and the girls can determine which sorority is a good fit for them.
Tonight’s round had a cowgirl theme! It was our Foundation round, so we recognized DG’s foundation- Service for Sight- by decorating bandanas for seeing eye dogs!
Here I am with my roommate and DG sister Ali:
And with more of my sisters!
On Saturday we find out which girls will be DGs! Stay tuned for more rush updates!
