BRIDESMAIDS–A Tasty Slice

Last week I got the exciting opportunity to laugh my butt off and see the new comedy Bridesmaids. This totally non-chick-flick, which everyone is calling the “female version of the hangover,” is so much more. Bridesmaids is like a really good slice of pizza. It starts out a little too hot (opening sex scene, anyone?), and then the jokes melt in your mouth like flavorful pieces of mozzarella. By the end, you are savoring every last bite, and even the finishing crust is perfection.

Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig is fresh and funky as the film’s main topping—or character: Annie. Her antics as a confused maid-of-honor not only made me laugh, but by the end I had a total girl-crush on Wiig’s awesomeness.

This is not your typical comedy, or your typical girly girl’s film. Yes, this movie has heart—but it also has farts. Along with diarrhea, making out and vomiting (don’t worry… only two of which happen simultaneously).

By the end of the movie, my eyes were permanently squinting from smiling and laughing so much. It’s the kind of movie that you want to quote and giggle about all night afterward. I can’t wait for all of my friends to see it!
