Zara is a chapter writer at Her Campus Baylor. She works closely with the Editor-in-Chief on the Editorial Committee. Together, we publish articles centered on wellness, lifestyle, and culture.
She is a freshman at Baylor University majoring in biology. She has volunteered at a hospice center, a retirement home, and many other facilities working with the sickly and elderly. So far, she hasn't published any of her work yet, but she would love to.
In her spare time, she loves to draw fictional characters and write short stories. She takes great inspiration from the music that she listens to, including Taylor Swift, Role Model, and Conan Gray, as well as the video games she plays, which are anything involving Nintendo except for her favorite, Mouthwashing. She’s extremely passionate about climate change, inspiring people that they can make change on a grander scale than they think, and bringing awareness to social and political issues around the world. She was inspired to join HER because she believes that female authors bring a unique perspective to the world and have often been overshadowed and stereotyped by their male counterparts. It's important to her that everyone's voices are heard equally, and she wished to be a part of a community that prioritized that goal.
