Valerie Savage is a second-year student at New York University’s College of Arts and Science, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Her passion for medicine began while volunteering as a counselor at the Mid-Hudson Valley Camps, where she worked with individuals with special needs and children who are deaf or hard of hearing. That experience inspired her dream of becoming a doctor who can provide compassionate, accessible care. She is currently gaining clinical experience through an internship in the Department of Urology at NYU Langone Health, while also serving as Treasurer of NYU’s American Sign Language Club. Valerie hopes to pursue medical school and one day practice pediatrics or specialize in care for patients with special needs and the deaf community.
