My name is Ty Taylor, and I am a junior at the University of North Texas pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I am on the pre-dental track and aspire to become a dentist who provides compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting oral health education within underserved communities. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong interest in the sciences, particularly human biology and anatomy, and I enjoy learning how scientific knowledge can be applied to improve the health and well-being of others. My long-term goal is to attend dental school, where I can continue building the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I am actively involved in student leadership and campus organizations. I currently serve as the Vice President of BWISE (Black Women in Science & Engineering) and as the Events Co-Director for Her Campus at the University of North Texas. Through these leadership roles, I help foster an inclusive and supportive environment while planning programs and events that encourage academic excellence, professional development, networking, and community engagement. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, communication, organization, collaboration, and event-planning skills while allowing me to make a positive impact on my campus community. My previous work experience in customer service and retail management has also helped me develop strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in fast-paced environments.
Outside of school and leadership, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, cooking, traveling, spending time in nature, reading, and discovering creative ways to connect with others. I value lifelong learning and believe that every experience presents an opportunity for personal and professional growth. My faith, determination, and passion for helping others continue to motivate me as I work toward achieving my goals. I strive to lead with integrity, maintain a positive attitude, and inspire those around me through hard work, kindness, and dedication. As I continue my educational and professional journey, I look forward to expanding my experiences, serving my community, and making a lasting difference in the lives of others through healthcare and leadership.
