Teagen McDonald

U Ottawa '28

My name is Teagen McDonald, and I am an Honours student in International Development and Globalization with a minor in Criminology at the University of Ottawa. I grew up in Niagara Falls and later moved to Ottawa for University, as my program aligned with my interest in global issues and community development.

I’ve always loved getting involved in my school communities. In high school, I was the Head of Marketing and presented for both Rotary Interact and the Mock Trial Club, along with taking part in other activities that kept me busy and engaged. At university, I’ve continued to pursue leadership roles and now serve as the Director of Marketing for my program, where I help with communication and student engagement. I also volunteer with Out of the Cold Ottawa and the Legacy of Hope Foundation, which has given me the chance to support meaningful community and educational work.

Outside of school and volunteering, a huge part of my life is music and the arts. I play several instrument including the banjo, guitar, ukulele, piano and I sing. Music has always been a creative outlet for me and something that I really enjoy. Whether through my studies, volunteering, or artistic interests, I’m always looking for ways to stay connected to my community and learn from the world around me.
