Tami Akerele is a writer at Brown’s Her Campus chapter from Houston, Texas. She covers campus life, culture, and the little things that make student life both chaotic and beautiful.
Tami is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health at Brown, where she’s specifically interested in maternal health and gender-based violence. Beyond classes, she’s passionate about advocacy and loves finding ways research can connect back to real people’s stories.
When she’s not writing or studying, you can usually find Tami curled up with a novel, pirating an old movie, playing Sims 4, wandering into coffee shops she swears will make her more productive, or spending too much money at Trader Joes. She believes the best days include good music, a long walk, scheduled bedrotting, and a little bit of unplanned adventure.
