Hi! My name is Sydney Phelps, and I’m an undergraduate student at the University of Florida studying Advertising with a minor in Art. I’m originally from Tampa, Florida, and I’ve always been drawn to anything creative. Through my classes at UF, I’ve gotten to explore branding, social media, media planning, creative strategy, and advertising analytics. I especially love the combination of creativity and strategy that comes with advertising and learning how brands can genuinely connect with people.
Outside of school, I love finding different ways to be creative. I enjoy painting and have my own small art business, Syd’s Studio, where I create and share my work. I’m also interested in social media, fashion, beauty, music, and movies. I love spending time with my friends, trying new coffee spots, finding things to do around Gainesville, and, as a Florida girl, pretty much anything that involves warm weather.
I joined Her Campus because I wanted to become more involved at UF, meet new people, and have another creative outlet. As an advertising student, I’m excited to gain more experience creating content and writing about topics I genuinely enjoy. I hope Her Campus gives me the opportunity to share my interests and experiences, connect with other students, and continue growing as both a writer and creative.
