Suil Martínez is a writer and junior editor at the Her Campus UPR chapter. She is discovering her own style, focusing on commentary, books, music, and opinion pieces.
Outside Her Campus, Suil had written for her highschool’s newspaper, serving as chief editor in “El Pasillo UHSiano” and as a writer in “El Lápiz Nómada”. She has been awarded the ‘Miguel de Cervantes’ and the ‘Eugenio María de Hostos’ medals for her writing and commitment to Spanish and Puerto Rican Literature. Suil has participated in events with the “Étnica” magazine, and received the “Negras y Poderosas” scholarship. She has written over 200 poems, currently editing her first poetry publication. She is a freshman at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus, majoring in Biology.
When her focus isn’t on her studies, Suil is rarely sitting still. Her attention is on expanding her music taste, finishing her never-ending TBR, exercising, or spending time with her family. She loves learning whatever she can about the world, listening to her father’s philosophical views, and taking pictures of her surroundings. A poet by nature and a healer by nurture, Suil does all she can to make the world a better place.
