Starla Marcelo is a staff fashion & beauty writer for Her Campus. She hails from Morristown, New Jersey but is currently located in North Philadelphia as a freshman at Temple University.
She is currently a marketing major, considering a minor in political science. Starla has primarily worked as a daycare teacher and as a teacher’s assistant and is passionate about education and child development. She graduated from Morristown High School in June 2026. During her time at MHS, she served as the head of the hair & makeup team for Morristown High School theater and received multiple regional theater awards as a representative of the team for their work on shows like, ‘Les Miserablés’ and ‘Little Women.’ She was also the senior editor of MHS's student print newspaper, 'The Broadcaster.'
In her free time, Starla enjoys painting, fashion photography, reading, hiking and weightlifting. Her main fashion interests include the development of historical trend cycles, alternative fashion/fashion as a means of rebellion, and experimental styling. She hopes to enroll in law school post-grad and is passionate about social justice and advocacy.
